Bebe Cool has once again stirred debate in Uganda’s entertainment industry after defending the hefty fees he charges for performances.

Speaking during an appearance on Kasuku Live, the veteran singer made it clear that his booking rates are not random figures but a reflection of the value he believes he brings to an event.

According to Bebe Cool, venues and event organizers can make massive returns whenever he steps on stage.

“If I come to perform at your venue, you can sell alcohol worth Shs 100 million or Shs 200 million,” he said.

The singer argued that his brand operates at a premium level and therefore cannot be associated with low-budget bookings.

“I can’t put my brand on small bookings,” he added.

Bebe Cool went on to reveal one of the expenses he personally incurs before every performance, claiming he purchases brand-new outfits for each appearance and never repeats them.

“First and foremost, I buy new outfits for every performance, and I don’t repeat them. I can wear an outfit worth Shs 15 million alone for a single performance,” he said.

The remarks have already sparked conversation among music fans and promoters, with some agreeing that established artists deserve premium rates, while others continue to question the soaring costs of booking top Ugandan performers.

For Bebe Cool, however, the message was clear: his fees match the brand, image, and commercial value he believes he delivers whenever he takes the stage.
