A bitter legal showdown is brewing between controversial social media personality Senga Acid, real name Sharon Mutesi, and Kampala businessman and real estate developer Yasin Bakaluba.

Bakaluba has officially dragged Mutesi to court in Canada, accusing her of publishing defamatory content on TikTok that allegedly tarnished his name, business interests, and public image.

According to a Statement of Claim filed before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, Bakaluba claims that videos posted on the TikTok account “Professor Senga Acid” contained false and damaging allegations against him.

The businessman says he has spent years building his reputation through his business ventures and public engagements. However, he alleges that the content shared by Mutesi portrayed him as being involved in criminal conduct, dishonesty, sexual misconduct, abusive behaviour, and unethical business practices.

Bakaluba strongly denies all the allegations and insists they are false and defamatory.

The lawsuit also names TikTok Technology Canada Inc. as a defendant in the case.

In the court filing, Bakaluba is seeking substantial compensation, including CAD $500,000 in general damages, CAD $200,000 in special damages, and CAD $300,000 in aggravated, exemplary, and punitive damages.

The total claim amounts to CAD $1 million, which is approximately UGX 2.7 billion.

Beyond the financial compensation, Bakaluba is asking the court to order the removal of the disputed TikTok content and to prevent any future publication of similar allegations.

The businessman is also seeking legal costs and any additional remedies the court may consider appropriate.

The case is expected to attract significant public attention given Senga Acid’s popularity on social media, where she has built a reputation for making explosive commentary about public figures and trending issues.

As of now, the allegations remain before the court, and no judgment has been made regarding the claims raised in the lawsuit.

All eyes will now be on the Canadian legal process as the high-stakes battle between the outspoken TikTok commentator and the Kampala businessman unfolds.
