The speculation is finally over.
Ugandan singer Zafaran, now professionally rebranding as Zafar, has officially announced that she is no longer affiliated with Swangz Avenue, bringing an end to her journey with one of Uganda's biggest music management labels.
In a heartfelt statement shared on her social media pages, the singer revealed that the decision followed "much prayer and reflection" and emphasized that the separation was amicable and built on mutual respect.
Zafar expressed gratitude to Swangz Avenue for the opportunities, mentorship, support and experiences she received during her time at the label, saying the journey played a major role in her growth both as an artist and as an individual.
She also thanked the label's management, staff, fellow artists and partners, before turning her attention to fans who, she said, had remained a constant source of encouragement throughout her career.
Looking ahead, Zafar confirmed she will now pursue music independently, promising to continue creating authentic music while building an even closer relationship with her supporters.
Her closing message struck an optimistic tone: "The best is yet to come, and I look forward to sharing this next phase of my journey with you."
The announcement comes after months of reports and industry speculation surrounding her future at Swangz Avenue, with earlier claims suggesting the two parties were heading in different directions. Zafar's statement now provides official confirmation that the chapter has come to an end.
