Thousands of believers expecting to witness miracle healing services in Kampala have been dealt a major disappointment after internationally renowned televangelists Benny Hinn and Kenneth Copeland postponed their planned visit to Uganda over concerns surrounding the country’s Ebola outbreak.
The two preachers had been scheduled to headline the Global Conference on the Holy Spirit, a three-day event set to run from June 27 to June 29 at Miracle Centre Cathedral under Pastor Robert Kayanja. Nigerian preacher Paul Enenche was also billed to minister during the conference.
The announcement comes as health authorities continue monitoring the Ebola situation, prompting organizers and the visiting ministries to prioritize public safety.
The conference had generated significant excitement among Christians across Uganda and the region, with many planning to travel to Kampala for what was expected to be one of the year’s biggest faith gatherings.
Church organizers say the conference has been postponed rather than cancelled outright, with discussions already underway to announce new dates once conditions are considered safe for international travel and large public gatherings.
For now, thousands of followers who had been counting down to the historic crusade will have to wait a little longer as organizers prepare for the event’s return at a later date.
