Ugandan singer Eddy Kenzo has finally responded after dramatic photos and videos exploded online showing what looked like security officials forcing him out of a VIP seating area during President Yoweri Museveni’s swearing-in ceremony.

The images started circulating just hours after the high-profile event at Kololo, with social media users claiming the BET award winner had allegedly been embarrassed in front of top government officials and invited guests.

Some clips appeared to show confusion around the seating section as security personnel moved people around, instantly fueling rumors that Kenzo had been “chased away” from the VIP area.

The story spread quickly across Ugandan entertainment pages, gossip blogs and TikTok accounts, with many users questioning how a musician who has openly supported Museveni’s government and who was recently appointed presidential advisor on creatives could allegedly be treated that way.

But Kenzo is now pushing back hard against the claims.

According to posts circulating from entertainment pages and social media updates published within the last few hours, the singer dismissed the viral photos as misleading and fake propaganda targeting him.

The singer reportedly denied that he had been kicked out of the VIP section at all, insisting the online narrative was being twisted to embarrass him politically and socially.

The controversy comes at a sensitive time for Kenzo, who has increasingly become one of the most visible musicians aligned with the ruling establishment. His public support for Museveni has already placed him at the center of heated online debates, especially among younger Ugandans and opposition supporters.

Just months ago, Kenzo made headlines after defending Museveni and criticizing people who benefit from government opportunities before later turning against the President.

That political closeness is exactly why the alleged “VIP humiliation” story exploded so fast online.

For many social media users, the viral images looked symbolic. A superstar musician who rose from the streets to international fame seemingly struggling for space at one of the country’s biggest political ceremonies.

Others, however, argued the entire thing was exaggerated for clicks, saying crowded state events often involve security reshuffling guests and seating arrangements.

Videos circulating online also showed Kenzo arriving at the ceremony earlier with his wife, Minister Phiona Nyamutoro, appearing calm before the controversy erupted online.

So far, there has been no official statement from State House or event organizers about the incident itself.

But one thing is clear, the photos sparked serious buzz because Kenzo is no ordinary celebrity anymore. Between music, politics and his government role, almost every public appearance he makes now comes with scrutiny.

And at a ceremony packed with politicians, diplomats, military officers and celebrities, it only took a few viral pictures for the internet to turn an awkward moment into full-blown drama.
