Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba has announced the postponement of a planned demonstration after a request from Aine Kaguta Godfrey Sodo.

In a post shared on X on Tuesday evening, Muhoozi said the demonstration had been put on hold following Sodo’s appeal to allow further engagement with Turkish authorities.

“Honourable Sodo has requested that we postpone our demonstration. We have postponed it,” Muhoozi wrote.

The announcement came in response to a message from Sodo, who said he had already begun efforts to engage Turkish officials and requested that the planned action be suspended while discussions continue.

Despite agreeing to postpone the demonstration, Muhoozi reiterated his position on Fred Lumbuye, stating that Turkish authorities should either hand him over or expel him from the country.

The development suggests that efforts are being made through diplomatic channels as discussions regarding Lumbuye continue.
