Grace Nakimera: I’ll Leave Any Man Who Demands a DNA Test for Our Children

Ugandan singer Grace Nakimera has sparked a heated conversation after revealing that she would immediately leave her partner if he ever insisted on carrying out a DNA test on their children.

Speaking during a recent interview, the “Anfukula” singer said she believes DNA testing in a family is a clear sign that trust has already broken down, making it difficult for a relationship to survive.

“The day my man decides to carry out a DNA test on my children is the day I pack and leave with my children,” Nakimera said.

The mother of three argued that DNA tests often destroy homes because they are driven by suspicion rather than love and trust. According to her, once a man begins questioning whether his children are biologically his, the emotional damage to the relationship may already be irreversible.

Nakimera maintained that trust should remain the foundation of any relationship and questioned why a committed partner would feel the need to verify the paternity of children if there had been no breach of faith.

She added that while a partner may secretly choose to carry out a DNA test without her knowledge, discovering that such a test had been conducted would be enough for her to end the relationship.

Her remarks come at a time when DNA testing has become one of Uganda’s most debated relationship topics, with celebrities, public figures and social media users expressing sharply divided opinions on whether paternity tests strengthen accountability or undermine trust within families.

As expected, Nakimera’s comments have fueled fresh discussions online, with some agreeing that relationships cannot thrive without trust, while others argue that DNA testing provides certainty and should not automatically be viewed as a sign of betrayal.
