Investigative records strongly link George Desmond Kamurasi to the family of the late Prince Jimmy Desmond Mugenyi, a son of former Tooro Omukama Sir George Kamurasi Rukidi III. Prince Jimmy was a key member of the Tooro royal family and a paternal uncle of the late King Oyo.
If the documented family connection is formally confirmed, Kamurasi is a grandson of Sir George Rukidi III and belongs to the direct Babiito royal lineage that has historically produced the kings of Tooro.
