NAMEERE ARRESTED HOURS AFTER SWEARING-IN! Military Operatives Reportedly Pick her Up in Masaka

This is now the hottest political story in Uganda tonight.

After hours of confusion, conflicting reports, and intense speculation on social media, multiple news outlets are now reporting that Masaka Woman MP Justine Nameere was indeed arrested Friday evening just hours after taking oath as Member of Parliament.

According to reports from inside sources, Nameere was intercepted while heading toward Liberation Square in Masaka City after her swearing-in celebrations.

But the story became even more explosive after claims that military operatives picked her up from Tropic Inn in Masaka during a dramatic late-night operation.

And Kampala’s political corridors immediately exploded.

The arrest reportedly came after days of fierce online exchanges involving Nameere, the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU), and PLU Secretary General Daudi Kabanda as the Anita Among speakership war intensified.

Nameere had openly defended Speaker Anita Among while attacking PLU figures over their sudden withdrawal of support for Among and Deputy Speaker Thomas Tayebwa.

Then came the biggest political twist.

Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba publicly endorsed Defence Minister Jacob Oboth Oboth for Speaker, a move many insiders now see as a direct political blow to Among’s camp.

By Friday night, the political atmosphere had become extremely tense.

There are reports that Nameere’s husband claimed armed officers arrested her after a confrontation involving her security detail.

Meanwhile, reports also emerged that Speaker Anita Among had held a crucial State House meeting amid growing pressure over the speakership race and corruption allegations tied to her wealth.

Now MPs, political operatives, and online commentators are all asking the same question:

Is this simply a security operation… or the beginning of a much larger political purge inside the ruling establishment?

Because tonight, one thing is clear:

Uganda’s speakership battle has officially moved from quiet lobbying into full political warfare.
