Sheema District Woman Member of Parliament Hon. Adrine Katusiime Mwebesa has dismissed viral images purportedly showing her kneeling before a government official, describing them as fake and generated using artificial intelligence.

The images, which have been circulating widely across social media platforms, sparked debate online before the legislator issued a public statement rejecting their authenticity.

In a statement dated 10 July 2026, Mwebesa urged the public to disregard the pictures, insisting they were fabricated and intended to tarnish her reputation.

"Ladies and Gentlemen, Those images are FAKE," she stated.

The MP suggested the person behind the manipulated images was acting out of jealousy, urging the public not to give the content any attention.

"You all know that an idle mind is a devil's workshop. I presume the one making them is just idle and jealous. Let's just ignore him or her," she said.

Mwebesa also strongly condemned the creation and circulation of the altered images, describing the act as both reckless and disrespectful.

"However, I condemn such acts of recklessness and disrespect. This can be tolerated once, but not forever!" she added.

The statement, signed by the Sheema District Woman MP, comes amid growing concerns over the misuse of artificial intelligence to create convincing but misleading images of public figures. AI-generated content has increasingly become a challenge for politicians, celebrities and other public personalities, who have found themselves targeted by digitally manipulated photos designed to spread misinformation or damage reputations.

By publicly dismissing the images, Mwebesa has sought to reassure the public that the viral pictures are not authentic and has called on social media users to stop sharing the fabricated content.
