Uganda Airlines has achieved a major financial milestone after its annual revenue surged to $116.2 million in the 2024/25 financial year, marking one of the airline's strongest performances since it resumed commercial operations in 2019.

Figures released by the Ministry of Works and Transport show the state-owned carrier's revenue has grown dramatically from just $10.3 million in the 2019/20 financial year to $116.2 million, representing a compound annual growth rate of 62.4 percent.

The impressive growth reflects the airline's aggressive route expansion, increased passenger traffic, and growing role in connecting Uganda to regional and international destinations. The carrier has steadily expanded its network while strengthening operations at Entebbe International Airport, helping increase its share of passenger traffic.

The latest performance also comes as Uganda Airlines continues to reduce its financial losses despite operating in a highly competitive aviation market. Recent financial updates indicate the airline has narrowed its net losses while posting steady revenue growth, a sign that its commercial strategy is beginning to yield stronger results.

The encouraging figures arrive just weeks after Uganda Airlines signed a landmark agreement with Boeing to acquire 10 new aircraft in a deal valued at approximately $985 million. The fleet expansion is expected to support new passenger and cargo routes while boosting tourism, trade, and investment across the region.

Government officials have consistently described the national carrier as a strategic investment aimed at improving Uganda's global connectivity, promoting exports, and positioning Entebbe as a regional aviation hub.

With revenue now exceeding $116 million, Uganda Airlines appears to be building momentum as it pursues long-term expansion plans, increases its route network, and works toward achieving sustainable profitability in the years ahead.
