Kampala’s gossip corridors are once again in overdrive after explosive and highly controversial claims started circulating online linking city socialite SK Mbuga, former Speaker Anita Among and singer Sheebah Karungi to an alleged intelligence investigation.
The allegations, which remain completely unverified by any official government agency, have been spreading rapidly across TikTok, WhatsApp groups and gossip blogs since the weekend.
According to the viral claims, security operatives are allegedly looking into supposed financial dealings connected to Anita Among, with social media posts further dragging SK Mbuga into bizarre accusations involving alleged trips to Haiti and Tanzania in search of spiritual assistance.
The claims become even more sensational with online reports alleging that charms, drums and suspicious items were supposedly discovered during a security operation. Some posts even claim photos of top Ugandan political figures were allegedly found alongside the items.
However, as of now, there is NO official statement from State House, Uganda Police, military intelligence or any recognized government institution confirming the allegations.
The rumors also attempt to connect First Lady Janet Museveni’s reported illness to the alleged claims, but again, there is absolutely no verified evidence supporting those accusations.
In another twist, singer Sheebah Karungi has also been pulled into the storm through unverified social media allegations claiming she was allegedly used in suspicious financial transactions tied to Anita Among.
Neither Sheebah, SK Mbuga nor Anita Among has publicly responded to the viral claims by the time of publication.
Political observers warn that Uganda’s online space is increasingly becoming flooded with dangerous misinformation, especially involving public figures and sensitive national institutions.
Until official agencies release verified information, the allegations remain rumors circulating on social media and should be treated with extreme caution.
